Abstract

During general anesthesia, the Surgical Pleth Index (SPI) showed a moderate correlation with stress hormone levels, while no such relationship was observed during consciousness. Additionally, SPI values reliably predicted adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) levels. This highlights SPI's potential as a predictor of stress hormone dynamics under anesthesia.
