Inflammation is the body's response to injury, and it leads in the development of protein-rich exudates as long as the injury isn't severe enough to destroy the area. In this investigation, the plant Neolamarckia cadamba(Roxb.)Bosser of the Rubiaceae family was employed. The anti-inflammatory action of human red blood cells (HRBC) has been studied using membrane stabilisation. The pharmacological investigations of the various extracts revealed that all of them had anti-inflammatory properties, implying that alkaloids and saponin present in these extracts may be to blame for the anti-inflammatory action.
