National surveillance database for antibiotic use was established and national center for disease control (NCDC) is designated as the focal point for antibiotic resistance in the country. Correct use and correct prescription of antimicrobial drugs should be addressed to both the general population and health care professionals and educational programmes have to be conducted to create awareness among them. In particular, it would be desirable to focus on the new generations of health care professionals like medical students. Indeed, medical students must be fully aware of the increasing problem of antibiotic resistance, since they will be the future antibiotic providers.
